First Burial
The boy in the box was buried twice. The first was on July 24, 1957, in Philadelphia. All of the people who attended were the investigators of the case and the police men.
Second Burial
DNA testing was later available and policemen dug out the body of the young boy in 1998 to continue with a number of different tests. They hoped to finally find the killer or at least name the boy now that new technology was available in the 90's. It was all hopeless, their search continued to lead no where. Police was unable to identify the body but they were able to rule out possible suspects with the use of the DNA obtained.
The second burial took place on November 11, 1998 at the Ivy Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.

The headstone has a picture of a lamb and underneath it contains the words . "Americas Unknown Child...Dedicated November 11, 1998". The original headstone used in the first burial is also included at the bottom of the grave.
Just like the first burial, the people who attended were policemen, investigators and members of a society called Vidocq. This society dedicated themselves to solve the mystery of the boy in the box.
